  1. Who can be a member of MyAgeCOpe?
    If you are the owner, staff or volunteer at a facility/premise that provides residential aged care (i.e. penjagaan berkediaman), you can apply to be a member. One can be a Direct or Branch member and each State should have its own Chapter. Only Ordinary members have the right to vote in AGMs while Associate members are allowed to attend the annual event. Honorary members are by invitation only.
  2. Why is there a need for the Association?
    The idea of a national body for residential aged care service providers was born out of necessity. Different operators, be it by the government (federal or state), private businesses (individual, partnerships or body corporate) or NGOs / FBOs / CSOs, target specific elderly groups, with may vary in their capacity and financing models. The Association seeks to establish a national network of operators across the different sectors and strive to promote industry-wide improvements. Like the Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia, Malaysian Association of Hotels, or the Association of Banks in Malaysia, MyAgeCOpe strives to contribute to the development of a responsible, sustainable and quality aged care industry.
  3. What is the membership fee and what are the benefits?
    Registration fee is RM25 (once only) and annual membership fee is RM50. Members can participate in association-organized events at discounted rates and utilize the network to promote and coordinate activities relating to aged care and long term care.
  4. How are the Office Bearers elected?
    Every year, Annual General Meetings are held at the branch level and representatives are identified to participate in the Annual Delegates Meeting. Once every three (3) years, branch AGMs will carry out its own elections to vote for a 9-member Executive Committee. At the national level, also once every three years, a specific number of branch and direct member delegates will meet to elect an 11-member Executive Committee.
